Controlled accounting workflow pilot

Bank Statement PDF to CSV/XLSX Converter

Structured transaction data from South African bank statements, with review checks designed for accounting workflows rather than blind extraction.

What it does

From a statement document to rows an accountant can review.

The converter extracts dates, descriptions, debits, credits and balances from statement PDFs and prepares structured CSV or XLSX output. It is intended to reduce manual capture while keeping uncertain data visible for review.

It supports three common starting points: text-based digital PDFs, scanned PDFs that need OCR, and password-protected statements where the password is supplied through an agreed controlled process.

Accounting workflow

Prepared for the next step, not treated as automatically correct.

1. Extract

Identify statement structure and convert transaction content into consistent fields.

2. Validate

Check running balances, row counts, duplicate candidates and extraction warnings.

3. Review & export

Resolve warnings, then prepare CSV/XLSX data for Sage, Xero or another agreed import workflow.

Validation

Checks that help expose a bad conversion.

Balance continuity

Compare transaction movement with running balances and flag breaks for review.

Duplicate candidates

Surface repeated dates, descriptions and amounts without deleting rows automatically.

Row and page coverage

Compare extracted rows with statement structure and retain warnings about incomplete sections.

Multi-bank direction

Bank-specific layouts need bank-specific testing.

The product direction covers Standard Bank, Nedbank, Absa, Investec, FNB and other South African statement formats. Support is verified per layout and document quality; listing a bank is not a claim that every historical statement variation is already handled.

A controlled pilot begins with representative samples, expected accounting output and a review of exceptions before a repeatable workflow is agreed.

Current status

Controlled pilot and testing - not a public upload service.

Do not send a real statement through the website. Start with an enquiry; if the workflow is a fit, data handling and transfer are agreed before any financial document is shared.
